A bit of advice please?

Hey guys, I'm due an upgrade and I'm wanting a PC that is going to last a good while, I'm not sure whether to go for an i5/i7 or an AMD FX-8350, obviously Intel are the better CPU, I'm just not sure if I can justify spending that much, can someone tell me which I should go towards and maybe convince me into an i7? Got everything else pretty much mapped out just not sure what CPU!

Budget is around £900 and the PC will be mainly used for gaming as well as everyday things like surfing the net, watching videos etc

Don't think I'd feel comfortable building myself, don't know enough if I'm honest haha and I'm based in Gretna in Scotland

Yeah I've been looking at the ones they build for you just not sure if I can justify going for an i7

No preference over them and just the OS got everything else covered
