Hi,
I have a studio XPS 8000 and i have recently come in to owning a Sapphire R9 Nitro 380. The PSU that i have is only 350 watts - what PSU should i upgrade to - so that i can use the GPU?

thanks in advance

Thanks for the fast reply and thanks for moving the thread.

How would i know if Dell have used "non proprietary connectors"?

Sorry for being a biff

Pop the case open and see if the cable have the standard 24-pin motherboard and 4/8-pin CPU connectors. The drive connectors will either be 4-pin molex or sata and will be fine.

I've just had a look at an online copy of the service manual and it looks like standard connectors to me, but do check yourself before buying anything.

A quick search turns up a picture for a 475W PSU (Part no F217J, VP-9500073-000) on the river site which seems to indicate that it's not a standard ATX PSU.

Another site sells a 500W PSU from Enlight (Part no J860K DPS-360FB-1A PS-5361-2 PC) which they say will do the trick, and that has the dimensions of a standard ATX PSU.
