Hi.
First things first. Ive read the stickyed thread, but im not interested in Body Building, so im not sure how applicable some of that will be. Anyway.
Looking at mainly building up leg muscles, particularly my hamstring. And losing weight.
Now, workout wise, im sorted.
Its just the diet thing.

Apart from 2 days a week, i get up at 2pm and go bed at 4am.
Regardless: Ive been told that 2 pieces of toast & a bit of fruit for breakfast is a good idea. But i dont really bother with breakfasts. Is that gonna be a problem?
If im to have a big meal, to make it dinner time.
That i shouldnt eat a few hours before i go bed.
Things to eat:
Chicken, Tuna, Turkey, Pasta, Rice. - Combination of for meals.
Fruits & low fat yogurts for snacks.
Water, Fruit Juices & Flavoured waters for drinks.

To have 1 days a week where i can basically 'cheat' and have things i wouldnt normally be able to eat, like pizza, currys, ect;
And then the next time im at the gym after that to do more cardio than usual.

Does all that sound right?
Thanks.

breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

eat breakfast (regardless of time you wake up, make it a priority to eat), that way your metabolism is already at work. come the time for when you have first meal, your body would have been working away for say 3 hours?
3 hours x 7 days x 52 weeks is a lot of extra hours your body could be working for you :]
2 pieces of wholemeal toast or a good handful of porridge (no sugar, skimmed / semi milk) is great (porridge is best), or maybe 2 weetabix (again no sugar / semi milk)

on a training day, about 9pm i have a small bowl of cereal (most of the time muesli), gets the metabolism working into the night :]

So lets say, hypothetical day: I get up at 2pm. So i eat the equilivent of a breakfast at about 2:30 and then not bother with dinner? Just tea later on?
My typical day at the moment is usually getting up at 2pm, having my dinner, having tea at about 7:30, watch telly from 12 to 3am, prehaps eating some crackers with some cheap cheese in the process.
And then on other days its get up at 7am, skip breakfast, have something for dinner, usually quite small, have tea at 7:30, go bed at 1am.

So if i was to modify the 'other day', it'd end up like this:
-Get up at 7, have some toast.
-Have a dinner at 12.
-Have tea at 7:30.

What about a typical day for me though? I can hardly have Dinner so soon after breakfast, is it not easyier to forget breakfast & have a large Dinner at the same time?

Is that not a bad idea? Ive been told that if your bodys not working within a few hours of eating that the food just gets digested into fat?

Thanks for the help bty. :)

Right, been thinking and experimenting, and ive come up with this.

Where possible:
Breakfast: Toast + Fruit.
Snacks of fruit/yogurts.
Dinner: Turkey/Chicken/Beef Sandwich + Fruit/salad.
Snacks of fruit/yogurts.
Tea: Turkey/Chicken/Beef + Pasta/Rice + Salad.
Snacks of fruit/yogurt.

College/busy days:
Breakfast: Toast + Fruit
Dinner: Turkey/Chicken/Beef Sandwich +(if possible) Fruits/Salad.
Tea: Turkey/Chicken/Beef + Pasta/Rice + Salad.
+ Snacks of fruit/yogurt where possible.

Gym days.
Breakfast: Toast + Fruit.
Snacks of fruit/yogurts.
Dinner: Pasta + Fruit/salad.
Snacks of fruit/yogurts.
Tea: Turkey/Chicken/Beef + Pasta/Rice + Salad.
Snacks of fruit/yogurt.

Is that good for a diet?
I plan no Gym work at least twice a week. Hopefully 3.

Snacks, can things like a small sandwich, noodles & whatnot also be considered a snack if its had once every now and then?

Oh, and where does cheese come into this? Is cheese + crackers a no-no?

/Hopes for quick reply as im off to supermarket tomorrow to get the stuff.

:)

TIA.
