My mums friend has a old Celly D 2.6ghz (I think thats the speed) She was using it the other day and all of a sudden it froze. She rebooted and it froze again where it says some how many seconds to cancel disk scan.

She rebooted again and nothing, no beeps, her monitor looks like its on stand by mode, no power to keyboard (num lock light doesnt come on when pressed)

I think its her motherboard whats gone, could it be anything else before I go and get her a second hand board for a Celly D.

Only on a £50 - £70 budget, the system is basic only users it for facebook and ebay.

It could be the motherboard but it could also be the PSU or other.

I would disconnect the hdd, dvd, disconnect USB devices, take out any cards etc - leavng only the CPU/HS, gfx card and 1 stick of memory.

Then clear the CMOS and check for signs of life...
