Well I am not really sure what is going on, but suddenly the sound on both me and my girlfriends computer suddenly dissapered
I have double checked all connections, reloaded drivers, codecs etc. and no sound whatsoever. Nothing is muted or turned off, not in Windows nor in bios.
Both "cards" are onboard, Asus and Abit motherboard.
The only reasons I can come up with are:
1. I turned of a power switch, that closed both computers at the same time.
2. We both play Albatross18, and some update screwed all audio related stuff on both our computers.
3. Windows update, did an update in the background that screwed everything audiorelated on the computers.
4. Avast antivirus screwed something up.
There are no errors on the computers, tried both Mediaplayer and Winamp - different audio files, no sound at all. There isn't any "hello" and "goodbye" tunes playing.
I use a normal 2 channel speaker system with a woofer, girlfriend use build in speakers (monitor).
Headphones doesnt work either.
Any ideas - for some reason I think both motherboards got their card fried, but I hope it's something else - I mean just turning off power on a switch should not fry anything or...?
