I found this on Kotaku- quite a good little mini series on how video game graphics have developed and very well produced videos. thought some of you might be interested!





 
What a great series of videos, thanks for linking to these. Especially liked the comments about how developers overuse new features when they first come along.

Enjoyed the polygon realm.

Starting with vectors, myself i still say that starwars works today as well as it did back in 83.

Later on, incredible to think that there were only 4 short years between wolfenstein and the like, to mario 64 and quake.

Worlds apart, massive jumps, that happens today?

Saw this posted in the comments on one of the videos. Basically we're unlikely to ever see such leaps in graphical fidelity ever again.
