My current build.
Intel Core i7 920
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Patriot Viper 6GB
ASUS 4850

I need BUDGET psu, firstly how does this PSU perform? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-043-OK&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1709

Another here

I'll push for a Corsair if needed http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-035-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

(I will buy a better GPU in the near future but atm my 4850 is running good, so will eventually buy as and when it dies.)

Would be interested in hearing some advice on my current PSU list, also more alternatives. I guess that Corsair is the most id pay but i can't afford it atm :(

Anything 600w+ will be fine for single gpu pc's for a while provided they have the amps to run them. OCZ and corsair would be fine, the OCZ's can be a bit loud I heard somewhere but you might want to check up on that to confirm as that was some time ago and they may have changed.

Another alternative is the XFX 650w core edition, it's made a bit better than the corsair and has another 50w but it is £65 so if you want budget probably not worth considering but just a suggestion.

My OCZ 600W supply isn't too loud. Sure it's not totally silent, but it's about on par with the noise from the rest of my fans. Infact I have that exact OCZ one you linked to, it runs the system in my signature no problem at all. Haven't had it long but comes with a three year warranty so should be reliable.

Thanks for the positive replies.

I have read many reviews and this seems the one for me at great price. Its been Measured to produce a maximum power: 712.5 W at 48.4º C ambient at full load. Anymore and it would apparently go into protection mode which sounds dubious to say the least but the more the merrier :P

Thanks for the help guys will be ordering this very soon :)
