I'm beginning to do more and more video work in my full time job, and so I was looking into upgrading my current equipment that I use.

I currently use an RX100 (Mk 1) to shoot video (they're all interview style, on a tripod etc), and while it's pretty good, it's showing its age, especially vs the brand guidelines etc

To elaborate on the types of video:

  • Interview style in well lit environments
  • I use my own soft-box lighting
  • Generally like a shallow depth of field to isolate the subject from the background
  • I'd like to move to 4K video, as both my editing laptop (a 2017 15 inch fully specced out macbook pro) and internet can handle the larger, more resource intensive files
  • I record audio separately and sync up in software, as it's incredibly easy to do on Final Cut Pro

I've been looking into the Sony A6300, and this would be my upper limit.

If you need/want more information, let me know.

Thanks in advance for tips/help :-)
