A close call with the delivery man!

Only one experience with DPD, farcical.
Asked them to deliver to work (Dirty great big Tesco), so they promptly chopped off the first line of the address and delivered it to four doors up.

Never again.
Royal Mail only, depot is 5 mins up the road from me and they know me these days lol.

Cheers

+1

tbh I'd be happy with a delivery service where I could pickup from a LOCAL depot.
ie 15-20 miles away. not 70 miles like most of the ones near me!
home delivery network have one down the road from me and actualy CALLED MY PHONE when I wasn't in to pickup and asked if I would be in later!
best service EVER.

I'm happy with DPD - no issues yet - always arrive on time and the guy is friendly enough. i even told him once "you DPD fellas are doing a decent job, cheers" and he replied "not everyone thinks that mate". funny ;)

now RM on the other hand? I don't know where to start... so i won't :)

i've ordered quite a lot of things, and the guy that gets the delieveries to me always knocks a few times and rings the bell. i've never been home when they delievered but my partner complained to me that their knocking was over the top lol.

looks like there are mixed versions of this.

I've never had luck with couriers... every time I order something, I need to add 3-4 days + a trip to the depot to pick the package up, because they rarely actually make it to the house to leave a non existant note

I just bought my first gaming build, also alleged to be arriving tomorrow. I also have a DHL parcel due to arrive the same day: the race is on! :P

Well... seems DPD didn't disappoint AGAIN!
Assured next day service hasn't arrived next day. What a set of unwashed gorilla's genitalia they really are.
Don't know how rubbish like them stay in business.

Don't want to turn my luck, but I'm glad I've never had any experiences mentioned in this thread. Had deliveries from all companies mentioned here an all on time.

Got my iPhone delivered by dpd on Tuesday on schedule. Rang them on monday to confirm everything and that it would definitely would be there and the guy seemed like he actually had a clue which was nice.

All good, but seriously, they really need to sort out their track and trace. I'm not sure when the status updated during transit but it was lagging at least 7 hours behind. It really is a pointless service if it isn't current.

Hooray! DPD finally delivered today (only 5 days after guaranteed next day delivery was arranged).
They must be cheap 'cos they have absolutely no other plus points. Please ditch 'em Overclockers.

Our DPD guy is great, always gets it to us (Thoguht granted its a shop) and always has a nice chat with us while he does it. Can't fault em personally.

the last time i had a delivery from royal mail i was sat in the room next to the door, first thing i hear is the letterbox and theres a nice red card sat looking at me, the timestamp on the card was 10:45 yet it had only just gone 10:25. i mean really wtf.

When I ordered my mates pc parts i missed the delivery man. Saw the card on the mat tho and was gutted at the thought of going to town to collect the parts the next day. A couple of hours after the delivery time on the card he came back and tried again!! He had deliveries and the route past near my house so he stopped by. I almost hugged him xD
