Hi Guys

It is not often I get excited about small peripherals such as this, but recently we relaunched Logitech at Overclockers UK.

Logitech have been selling like hotcakes and we have seen a lot of demand for their upcoming gaming surfaces.

The kind people at Logitech sent us some retail samples to test and I thought I would take some pictures and share my thoughts.

G240
The G240 is a soft mat, i don't normally like soft mats as they have a tendency to fray and pick up dirt easily. The G240 tracks very quickly for a soft mat and the mouse moves very easily over it. I especially like the thinness of the mat as it is very close to the desk.

The rear surface is grippy and doesn't move around and the logo design is subtle.

I really like the size of the G240 [both these mouse mats are the same dimensions].

G440
The G440 is the one that has really impressed me. It is presented in a nice looking flat box to protect the surface.

Its price point reflects that it is a more premium product than the G240. The overall feel and surface texture has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. I would liken it to the Mionix Propus 380 and a few of the Razer hard mats.

The G440 feels slightly rougher than some hard mats i have used previously but in honesty feels like it tracks better, the mouse moves very quickly over the surface [even my old MX518 with scratched feet]

Playing games on the G440 feels honestly better than the G240. It picks up movement well and is very accurate.

again, it is the same size as the G240 and i feel it is perfect for the average gamer.

The surface is re enforced with a stiffer plastic sheet in the mid layer that makes sure the pad is flat as possible and not prone to bends or creases.

It shares a similar grippy bottom surface to the G240 which means it stays put.

If you are in the market for a new mouse pad, I honestly think that it is clear that these pads have had some real research go into them rather than just being released as a 'tick box' product.

The G440 is my choice as it feels more premium, represents excellent value for money when compared to competition products and also performs very well with high end gaming mice.

These mats are available from us for pre order and will be in stock very very soon

Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad (943-000051) @ £24.95 inc VAT

GS-002-LG_400.jpg

G440 features a low friction, hard polymer surface ideal for high DPI gaming, improving mouse control and precise cursor placement. Consistent surface texture can improve sensor performance, especially when used with Logitech G gaming sensors. And the rubber base and hard polymer core help maintain stability.

Features:-
- Low Surface Friction - G440 features ultra low surface friction, offering high DPI gamers an ideal surface for subtle hand movements and quick mouse gestures. The polyethylene surface allows the mouse to move even when applying minimal force, minimizing mistakes from overcompensation when starting or stopping.
- Consistent Surface Texture - Heavy patterns and designs can interfere with sensor performance. G440 features a clean, consistent surface texture. This gives sensors better imagery for translating mouse movement into cursor movement, an improvement over inconsistent or dirty table and desk surfaces.
- Matched to Logitech G Sensors - Whether using an optical or laser mouse, G440 can give gamers access to enhanced sensor accuracy and precision. G440 uses a surface texture comparable to the optimal testing environment for Logitech G mice.
- Multi-Layer Construction - G440 is solidly constructed using three critical layers. The polypropylene top layer provides the low-friction surface. A high-impact polystyrene core provides the firm, semi-rigid foundation. And finally, the rubber base keeps the mouse pad stationary.

The cloth surface of G240 provides ideal surface friction for low DPI gaming, improving mouse control and precise cursor placement. Consistent surface texture can improve sensor performance, especially when used with Logitech G gaming sensors. And the soft rubber base maintains stability without sacrificing comfort.

Features:-
- Moderate Surface Friction - Gamers using low-DPI settings, benefit from moderate resistance to the mouse feet when starting or stopping a rapid movement. Heat-treated at 200° C, the cloth surface of G240 provides just the right amount of friction for low-DPI maneuvers.
- Consistent Surface Texture - Heavy patterns and designs can interfere with sensor performance. G240 features a clean, consistent surface texture. This gives sensors better imagery for translating mouse movement into cursor movement, an improvement over inconsistent or dirty table and desk surfaces.
