I recently bought myself a CP filter to go on my D50 and realised i hadnt really been out with my camera since. Since it was nice and sunny yesterday i took a bike ride down the canal and simulataneously tested my nice new Tamrac Adventure 7 backpack which i bought for my trip to NZ/Asia :p

Anyway -- it was quite busy and i felt quite self conscious at times so didnt really come away with much. Was mainly aiming at the sky anyway to test the CP! Here's just a couple in colour and black'n'white. Comments appreciated.

Thanks for the comment. I'd agree -- i think they're both pretty boring, but the first has turned out quite nice. Just posting as i was trying out my CP filter and my new bag -- wanted to remember how to process photos too in anticipation for the millions i'll have when i get back from my trip :p Ta.

Nice pics, the first one is the best.

Did you just turn the CP filter until the sky looked right, or did you point it at a point in the sky? Im not very good with using polarisers so am interested in how you used it!

Well i wasnt sure to start with. After a spot of Googling when i first got it, it seems that the little arrow on the side of the filter is what you should point at the sun. However when you use the filter and play about with it -- most people tend to agree that it's easier just to turn it around until you get the effect you want. I was surprised how clear it is through the viewfinder when the sky turns dark blue, or the reflections on a car dissapear (etc.). It's very cool :)

I was trying out the action for PS that cyKey posted somewhere. Something to do with parades or something, but a search shall find it for you i'm sure :p I didnt spend a lot of time on that shot -- in colour or b/w!
