A couple of questions regarding a new build

Just had the following kit delivered from OCUK and a competitor which didn't show as prompt of a delivery service!

Core 2 Duo E6600
Schythe Ninja
Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi
2GB Geil 6400 Low Latency
Connect 3D PCI Express x1950xt
Akasa Zen
Creative X-Fi music

I've already got a Tagan 480w Psu that should handle the above rig fairly easily.

I now have the following 2 questions (be nice considering my last build was 3yrs ago and was an athlon xp)

1. The motherboard has a 8 pin power connector which had a rmovable cover over 4 of them. Should I remove the cover and use the 8 pin connector from the PSU or leave them covered and use the 4 pin connector. I think the first way is right but I'm just checking.

2. This is my main problem...

The power supply doesn't have a 6 Pin PCI express power connector so...

Where can I buy a converter if they are available/exist?

Or if they dont exist, can someone recommend me a decent, cost effective PSU for the above rig. I'm not going to upgrade for about another 2 yrs so it doesn't have to be future proof.

Thanks in advance.

(PS. a quick reply would be handy as I'm really excited about getting it up and running)

Both will work, though 8-pin is not really neccessary unless u are running heavily oced Pentium Ds 8xx

The graphics card you have should come with a molex -> PCI-E converter, if not it is readily available.

The gfx card does't unfortunately. (cheap skates at connect3d)

Looks like I'm going to have to take a trip to the purple shirt crew later :(

Good news on not having to spend £70 on a new power suply though. :)

Cheers

Really?? My C3D X1800XT comes with everything.

Actually found the converter here at OCUK but it's out of stock atm.
