A couple of quick question about a build i'm doing.

This is my first build, just have a couple of quick questions.

Should your motherboard come with an internal speaker so that you get an audible beep when it starts up or is it something you have to buy seperate ?

The sata cables that go to the optical drives, does it matter of they are sata 2 or sata 3 ports that you connect too ? One is a blu ray writer, the other a basical optical drive.

Not far off finishing, just the graphics card to go in and then i'll try and tidy up the cables as its a bit like spaghetti junction at the min lol

Those sata power cables aint half tight going in, they won't be coming off in a hurry.

Most but not all come with the buzzer some have it built into the board.

nope unless there sata 3 drives but i have not seen any my self, they are compatible in both directions but you only get sata 3 speeds with a sata 3 device on a sata 3 port.

The motherboard i have is a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H, it has a connection point for a little speaker but their wasn't one in the box, i presume it will beep from the motherboard on startup, hopefully it all starts lol

Speakers are usually built into the case. Not all cases have one though.

It makes no difference what flavour of SATA you use for your optical drives. They aren't bottlenecked by IDE, never mind SATA 2.
