Hey...

A few things I have been wondering I was hoping a few people could help me out with so it saves me going thru lots of benchmarks ;)

Is there a major difference in performance between the x1800xt 256 and 512MB of ram? I typically play at higher resolutions because I have a crt monitor, so usally 1280 or 1600 is what I like to game in. I am guessing that 256 will be fine for now, but in a few months that is when 512MB will be worth the extra cash... and so I guess its better to spend the extra money?

Lastly, I will be overclocking the video card (just using air and probablly just the stock fan for a while) what kind of clocks can I expect? and if I clock the 1800 would it offer better performance than a clocked 7900GT? from the few benchmarks I have read yesterday it would seem so.

Thanks again all for the replies in advance :)

At resolutions below 16x12 not much in it, crank the res higher and the gap will grow, also the 512mb will help with all the eye candy, AA/AF as you'll be able to add more for no drop in performance. :)

XT is an awesome clocker, theres a few ppl on here had very good clocks out of em. :)

I dont suppose there is a rough "average" overclock for the 1800xt?

I am guessing I may well save myself the extra cash on the card, and grab the 256MB version. But I will keep on looking at some more benchmarks though just for the heck of it.
