A couple of spec questions - help please

I am about to build a machine to get back into pc gaming and like the look of the spec for the intel machine in this thread:

Questions:

If i did want to upgrade the graphics to an ATI HD 4870 would the motherboard and the power supply listed still be OK?

For the past few years I have only used Mac and Linux machines so I'm a bit out of touch. Should I get Vista or stick to XP for my gaming machine?

Should be fine, and personally i would say go for Vista, only reason not to would be if you want to play ancient games that don't like vista, but then why would you need a high end gaming pc to play old games??
