a couple of X99 questions

So, I'm sitting here with my 3770k system which is still pretty fast for what I use it for, but am still thinking about getting myself a shiny new toy for my birthday at the weekend :-) .Basically, thinking about an X99/6 core setup.

I'm still looking at different mobo/memory setups, but here's a couple of other questions while I look.

1) CPU Cooler
I currently have a K2 Mount doom heatsink. I see some posts mentioning using one with a 5820K, so can anyone confirm that it would fit on something like a X99-A/USB3.1 or X99A SLI Krait Edition?
Also, how would something newer like an olymp compare to it?

2) VT-d/IOMMU
I use VM's for dev work and such, and want to have a go with QubesOS at some point, so i'm thinking I may as well make sure I get something with vt-d support (as it's missing on the 3770k). I've checked a few mobo manuals to make sure it's there, but does anyone know if there is any difference in support between the manufacturers, or is it all pretty much the same on x99?

Thanks.

I have that cooler. It works fine on x99.

You just need the 2011 mounts for it

Depending when you bought it, you might already have them (I think the mounts started to be included with it at some point).

Hmm, didn't see that. For 10p I may as well give it a go, and see how well it works (and then put the cash towards a new M.2 drive for now ;-) ).

I actually have someone interested in my old cpu/mobo/ram, but they may not fancy (or indeed have space for!) the K2, so may as well make use of it.
