I got a couple of problems with my XPS 1330 I wanted to share and see if anyone else experiences the same as me.
I use the laptop as a media centre mainly and have it hooked up to a Pioneer plasma via the HDMI output. This works fine playing most file formats but I have found the machine seriously struggles to play blu-ray rips or 1080p content. I have tried using WMP, PowerDVD and VLC but they all struggle and jitter when playing the files. I personally thought the spec of the laptop would be able to handle this, 2.2Ghz Core 2 with 2Gb ram an 8400 GS 128mb and a 7200rpm sata drive or am I wrong?
The other issue I find when having it hooked up to my AV system is i get a lot of HDD noise and buzzing, this is pretty annoying when watching a film or listening to music. Is there anyway I can defeat this?
