hi
i have the intel i5 4460, which i know is nowt fancy and i have the stock cooler on it but it is getting on my nerves, its too loud and the temps are not amazing

just finishing off my Silverstone FT03 build, which i seem to have been on for ages but i now want to get a new cooler
my colour scheme is mostly black - apart from bits of red from my msi motherboard)
so would like to stick to black if possible and preferably quiet but keep the processor cool - thats the point of them right :p
can prob stretch to £40 if need be.

was looking at this
Raijintek ereboss core but surely i need a fan, and which one?

any help very much appreciated

With the improvements it has over the V1 it doesn't seem like a too bad little cooler, however at this budget it seems that a good air cooler will be quieter than a cheaper AIO like the Seidon

It depends on how quiet the rest of your rig is, some people can't hear these 120mm AIO coolers at all, but in all my near silent builds, when using an AIO I can clearly hear the pump running, not that they're noisy as such but they aren't quiet.

I use a Coolermaster TX3 evo on my media PC and it does a great job and is very quiet and was £16. On a non Overclocked CPU huge air coolers are a little excessive tbh.

I wont overclock because i cant anyway haha
Just want to keep the cpu cool with very little noise, which the intel stock cooler does neither

The Ereboss Core and a basic fan like the Raijintek Aelous Alpha 140mm black/black for £7.99 would be a very nice black cooler.

Thanks ordered that
Finishing my build this week (been on it yonks now) and wanted the new alpenfohn matterhorn black but ocuk said they have no idea when stock will be landing and didnt fancy taking the pc apart again to put that cooler on

just wanted to say
received the Raijintek Ereboss core and also the Aelous alpha fan
in game the temps between this and the intel stock cooler is staggering.
with the intel cooler i was getting temps about 45/47c
with the Ereboss i am getting like 27/28c in game (Borderlands The Pre-sequel)!
i modded my case to help the cooler so that might of helped, but really chuffed with the temps

Nice.

Selling just the core is a great idea, and makes sense given that fans are replaceable and everyone has their fave fan/colour combos. More companies should make just the core available. I would like to see more case cores too.
