Basically, I'm in the market for a gaming laptop, for about £600, preferably less but can stretch.

After some googling I came across this apparent beauty. http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/home/products/notebooks/amilo_pa_3553.html

Am I missing something here? I've seen this laptop for sale for £600, which seems an amazing price compared to other laptops.

Anyone know anything about this laptop? Or can anyone suggest a better one for the price?

Thanks all!

Looks like a nice bit of kit for the money. I am also looking for a cheapish gaming laptop so thanks for the info.
My searches find a version with 3gb RAM, but still trying to find reviews.

Yeah I could only find one review, which was on Youtube, problem was it wasn't in English :(. Does look like a decent laptop though.

Its got 256MB of DDR2... that would be very slow.

I'm gonna guess that you're not much into laptops? For a sub £600 or so laptop that's about all you get. If you can prove me wrong, please do, as that's one hell of a laptop.

Ah damn, that's really quite a difference there!

Only problem is that I am having difficulties finding a laptop with an 8600 for less than £600. I managed to find one online from a highstreet shop, but the specs are different in the catalogue instore, and I can't find it on Samsung's website. It's an R700 if anyone knows it.

Yeah that's the one, book lists it as a GS, while their website has it as a GT. Guess an email to them will sort this out.
Ideally I was looking for a 15" laptop, as it's going to be used for uni and the like, so the extra portability is a bonus; otherwise I would have gone for the studio 17.

Thanks for the help :)
