well, kind of a weekend minus travel, mostly just relaxing on the beach in the Outerbanks, NC. I got up for some sunrise photos but the lighting was very poor so went back to bed. Of the 400 or so bird species in the area I found 4-5 :-(
On the plus side I saw a large bull-shark breach from the water, not more than 50ft from where I was swimming, on the same beach that this happened:

I got out the water pronto and wasn't really tempted to go back in!

These are just holiday snaps so not looking for critique really.

Landscape at 420mm (left 24-70 in the car...)

But I actually like landscape at extreme focal lengths:

Hatteras lighthouse, from several miles away.

The beaches were mostly populated with 2 birds:

And the Dunlin:

Not sure what this bird is:

There was also a turkey vulture

Apart from birds (and sharks) there were plenty of crabs:

Mostly was chilling in the shade of the beach tent, babysitting

But an evening stroll between thunder shows gave same dramatic lighting:

This is the largest sand dune on the US east coast although much smaller than the Oregon dunes

3:1 is my favourite landscape aspect ratio

Cool birds but I prefer that crab lol :D For some reason I like the look of any of those crabs with the sticky out eyes like a Ghost crab if that isn't a Ghost crab!
