Hi everyone,

I need a new mouse and I'm not sure what to get.

I don't use mice for gaming as I use my XBOX 260 wireless Controller + adapter.

But I do a lot graphic design where I need a steady mouse.

The main reason I'm changing my mouse is because the scroll wheel has been annoying and doesn't give me a smooth scroll, this is particular annoying when I want to zoom into something.

Is there a mouse, preferably corded, around £20 - £25 that I can use?

I was going to buy the Razer Abysuss mouse but it's mainly geared to gaming so I thought not to waste my money there.

for the budget you've set, most people will be recommending a mouse that is geared at gaming as generally thats where most of the better mouse are. good examples of these are the logitech MX518, Razer deathadder etc those are recommended by many and are gaming mice.

as for my suggestion, i use a logitech G500 and i find the scroll wheel works well enough, but I mainly use my PC for this forum.

i have a gigabyte M6900 (i know its aimed for gaming) and i find it really comfortable and easy to use, plus its cheap.

The mouse does look quite good, very cheap for the features etc.

The logitech mice seem too gaming if you know what i mean.

Any other advice on mice would be helpful.

To be honest comfort and size are more important when working with a mouse, as if it is too big or too small, or has buttons in weird places it can be difficult to use for long periods.

Most gaming mice have higher accuracy compared to standard mice, so will be much better when doing fine movements, and some would even allow changing of DPI accuracy on the fly, so that you can go from fast inaccurate swipes, to slow careful pin points, without changing software settings.

I have been using Logitech mice for some time, and have always been acurate. Maybe try this one.

If you can go into a PC store to at least try some for size, you can then buy it online.

hmm Thanks for the info guys, I have to say I'm not too fond of the MX518, it looks quite large, I'm more of a guy who hold a mouse in a claw type grip rather than grabbing it with my palm.

I do a fair bit of photoshop work & use the Razer Lachesis, it works a treat for my requirements.

I'd love to get that one or the deathadder

The only razer I can get is the Abyssus which I can get for £29 but I heard it's not really that good compared to others.
