Right, we definitely will be using Adobe Suite CS6, not sure yet about 3d software/gaming and audio.

whats the MVP?

RIght, I will look into it, thanks for the input.

yes I've added another 8gb of Ram, cheap as chips so might as well :D

exactly thats what I think, doubt we will get upgraded after this time so rather make the most of it. I guess the Hazro seems pretty decent, though I am not too sure on the company :/

Hazro are a good brand. They aren't as big as Dell, Samsung, etc but they make great monitors. :)

P.S. You won't have enough RAM slots for 3x kits. ;)

Wiining spec above almost
seeing as you have moneys to spare

cahnge PSU to below seasonic one

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-SS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2383

cahnge the I7 to the retail instead of OEM as this week only (till wednesday next week) the retail is cheaper than the oem and has 3 years warranty. if you not planning on buying until next week after wed, and have no plans of overclocking just get the normal 3770

Right, will take the Seasonic then, knowing our IT dept it might take a few weeks rather than days....

Right thanks, I'll have a look for a 3x 8gb sticks :)

PS. cant find any quadro GPUs on OCuk?

I would have a a fuller look intot he quadro vs gtx not just for photoshop but for all other applications you may be using. and see which one will benefit you most.

if all other graphics software you use is better with the 660 over quadro then the dip in perfomance on PS wouldn't be bad.

You might want to stick with an even amount of RAM sticks to keep it dual channel.

I notice you also said audio work, a soundcard might help then but I've no idea what one would be perfect, however I have heard Creative is good for audio work.

I doubt I will be using amazingly high res images so the 660 should probably be enough but will check it yet.

Right so 3x8gb then, ill try to find some decent ones for a reasonable price.

2x TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED316GM1600HC11DC01) :D

Well yes, there will be some audio work, but dont think we need any decent cards as its going to be basic things, sound recordings, simple edits, cuts etc, nothing like lossless audio etc, so wouldnt worry too much about it.

Not sure if you misread there mate, he said stick with even amount. so either 4 x 8gb or 4 x 4gb

3 x 8gb will wreck the dual channel up and will probably result in drop of perfomance in ram.

also you will need windows professional or higher to see 32 gb of ram should you go for 4 x 8gb

oh right, yeah sorry, a lot going on at the moment, edited the previous post and added 4x8 sticks

Right, I cant check on my PC, but colleague has a 32bit Win7 Pro, wouldnt 32bit Win only recognize around 3gb?

It's something like 4GB RAM yeah. You need 64-bit or there is no point in life at all! :D

Right, he has 32bit version, I cant check anywhere which one I've got because everything is locked down, but I have Program Files and Program Files (x86) so Im guessing I have the 64bit version..

Right so here's the final setup, cant really see a big difference between the gf 660 and quadros and doubt we will be making 1080p videos which will need ideal quality etc, at least im not aware of that :)

Yes, if you have 2 program files folders with one labelled (x86) then you are on 64-bit. :)

Can't remember the link to the thread of the chap who made it, but the quickest way for you (at work) is to do this:

1/ Add a random bookmark
2/ Edit it and change the URL to this:
Code:
javascript:(function(){var a=function(){};if(typeof MyLib=="undefined"){var b=["https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js","http://ocuk-shopping-cart-to-forum-converter.googlecode.com/git/ocuk.js"];var c=function(){if(b.length>0){var d=document.createElement("script");d.src=b.shift();document.body.appendChild(d);var e=false;d.onload=d.onreadystatechange=function(){if(!e&&(!this.readyState||this.readyState=="loaded"||this.readyState=="complete")){e=true;d.onload=d.onreadystatechange=null;c()}}}else{a()}};c()}else{a()}})()
3/ When you're viewing your Basket on the OcUK website, just press the Bookmark you just created and it'll generate a box below your basket with some BBCode to copy/paste into the forums.

:)
