So I have a moral dilemma, I purchased a product from an ebay seller in April this year at what I knew was a great price for that product.

I assumed they were selling it for genuine reasons, i.e didn't want it, or they decided to get a different product. But when it turned up it was completely unopened and had an invoice from the manufacture in a different name then the person I purchased it from. I thought maybe there selling it for someone.

However over the last few months they have sold the same product many times and last night they were selling the latest version of the product, I bid on it and lost but this morning I've been sent a 2nd chance offer to buy it, the original listed ended at 05:30 and I was sent the offer at 09:30.

Thing is, the manufacture are a smallish US company and I feel I should tell them, in case they are being scammed themselves but I'm worried they'll want to take the product I purchased in April back from me.

What should I do?

OK I've sent them a tweet as I can't find an email address on their website, will wait and see if they reply.

OK, just to keep you all informed.

I was able to contact someone from the manufacture I had, had contact with before. He confirmed they did have some printers "stolen" via a stolen credit card.

He's passed the details on to the head office and will hopefully get in contact with me when/if he hears anything.

Result, pass on the sellers ebay details and registered address to them, but I guess that leaves you in a dilema whereby if your product seriel matches the ones that are believed to be purchased from a stolen card do you need to return it back?

That was my worry, but it's done now, just have to wait and see.

If they were brought with a stolen card, then maybe they were alerted to this fact by the card owner, who would have claimed on his/hers banks protection so wouldn't the printer manufacturers still got their money?

I'm still waiting to hear what their view on my printer is but they have told me they are contacting eBay to get the seller taken down. So they must think they are stolen, but the new printer I talked about has only been out a few months I purchased mine in April so how many/how long they may have been stealing them I don't no.

Just a waiting game now I guess.
