OK so this morning I noticed when I booted up my System ( I did it 4 times to check it wasn't my imagination, I've never noticed this before)...just after the Beep I always get at boot-up, there is a "Dimming" of everything ..like everything for about half a second loses power ..then kicks back up and is fine , all the LED Fans I have and the Cold Cathode Tubes too , Also the Fans on the CPU Cooler as well , Is my PSU ( Specs as below ) on the way out ?

thanx :)

EDIT:.....it seems after some more watching boot-ups that its maybe just the two top case fans i have ?, they are set to silent in the BIOS , but even set to standard , the same thing happens ....pc starts to boot up....i hear the beep...then after about 4 seconds the fans dim right down ..almost like they are gonna go off....then they just kick in again and are as they should be , is any of that normal ? I've never noticed that before ...so im a bit lost

Not normal at least not for me, fans spin up and down but lights do not fade unless something is wrong. Is all the wires connected tight ? just double, tripple check all your wires.

well all the fan connectors / wires checked and re-checked.. and they all seem as they should be ..in fact i cleaned everything i could remove ...ie graphics card , sound card , cpu cooler.

Linwelin the hardware is pretty new less than a year old for most of it including the PSU

It could be nothing, but it's not something i have ever come across, personally i would return it and get another one just to be safe.

Hmmm I was thinking about that too......, the only time i have seen that with my pc is when i first got the fans and chose to connect them via the mobo , ( The Case stock Fans had been connected via Molex )then went into BIOS to set them to silent as they were set to standard and a tad too loud for my living room lol...and when i re-booted the pc the fan leds dimmed then also ....bit of a hassel sending the psu back as im just about to move house lol

It is probably nothing but best get a PSU and test that, you think thats weird? When I restart a computer of mine it actually TURNS OFF for a good 15 seconds then back on, like literally complete power down lol.

But it's just the motherboard that does that for some reason, always has

Yeah thats kinda weird lol
i might just get a new PSU and send the other one back , ive had it about 10 months i think

EDIT :- After some thinking about this issue i think everything is fine ....i think the leds going off then back on could be a thermal cut off ?...and if there was a problem with the PSU there would be other issues..but there are none :)

Gibbo ? could your issue be to do with some ram compatibility ?
