Hi all! im looking into setting up a freeNAS box as I have enough computers etc on the go in the home now that would benefit from a central, localised area for media and all that fun stuff! but I have a few questions in how the plugins interact with each other and so on

I noticed freeNAS has the firefly plugin but im not quite sure how I could get it to interact with my iTunes library as I make purchases on my computer. I will have my main PC automatically backing up to the NAS which will include my music library but im imagining due to the way Jails etc work I couldnt tell Firefly to go scan my iTunes folder of my backup on the NAS as it wont know it exists? or could I simply set the folder that Firefly has to scan as the iTunes folder on my computer backup on the nas? or is it even more simple than that and I can simply tell Firefly to grab my iTunes media and move it to the NAS whenever it finds new songs?

Also I see that there is about 10/15 plugins supported on FreeNAS when the Plugins tab is loaded, but could I add more that arent "officially" supported, or do they have to be grabbed from the FreeNAS user interface? thank you for the help :)

Ahh that is very useful, thank you :) I can use Plex etc to stream music and so on if required, but an iTunes server all the clients can tap in to just sounds so much easier, but I can always just create a homegroup of some kind, it'd just be nice if it was automated thats all, but thank you :)

Tell me about it. I wish I could find the perfect itunes server without having a pc constantly running itunes.
