A Bongo taking a break and unfortunately decided to move head slightly and i couldn't avoid the posts bottom right due to where i was standing.

Last one for moment the Zoo's Polar Bear asleep on the job :p even with a screaming brat shouting it's head off 'Wake up' over and over again.

I had to shoot the lizard through glass and without a flash as was worried the flash would scare it off. So it ended up being a high iso number due to the lowish light level and this with the glass might have thrown the focus off a tad. Also contributes to the noise in the background and under the chin.

Might have another of this lizard and will see what focus point i got there.

It's fine just proves how lazy that bear is then :p it just moves from spot to spot and sleeps.

I got lucky with the weather and i do feel sorry for some of the animals there, like the polar bear, as not the biggest of enclosures in places. Poor guy must be bored out of his skull as all he did that day was sleep and when i returned to try some close up shots with the 70-300mm sigma he had gone inside to hide.

The Bongo's are at least kept for somewhat correct reasons, as they are trying to save them from dying out in a worldwide zoo breeding effort. As are a few other animals kept there so they are doing some good at least.

Still got about 100 pics to go through and sort out from the visit so might update post next few days.

Yeah i had the Bongo lined up perfectly then he/she moved it's head and the posts came into play :(

really nice photos. what lens did u take with you?
I'm planning to go London Zoo.

edit: never mind, just saw your post 70-300.

The Polar Bear and lizard were with the 17-85mm Canon IS Lens and i did have my 50mm F1.8 prime with me but didn't use it in the end. Although some shots might have benefited from it as they were at the 50mm on the zoom len.
