Dont know what camera you were using (dont know how to read EXIF info on a mac) but I cant help but feel you should have cropped this right in to the building using a zoom or getting closer and elimination the sky. It would have had more impact and created a semi abstract image. Nice idea all the same.

The night shots need a little contrast boost, easily done most image editing software. They are nice, Honk Gong is awesome for some photography.

Just had a little play with one of the night ones,... something like this is what I meant...

its only very slight but it brings the lights out more and cropping it down has, i feel made the actual subject matter more impressivw by eliminating the black night sky,..

Looks like a fun place to go,

That spider looks proper evil, also #2 is a cool building

I agree with King_Boru-the night shots need a bit more contrast, make the blacks black etc. They should be pretty good after that edit

Can i ask where the following were taken? :)
The first is looking down on 'Central' Hong Kong from Victoria peak.

The 2nd is the Tian Tan Buddha, at the Po Lin Buddhist monastery, Lantau.

You have to wade through tourists and wait your turn to get shots at most of the tourist sights.

:D love them.. im going the chasanga in november myself (not too far away from hong kong) it looks amazing :D

Nice pics.
Love the 2fc building at night.
Oooo the duck and the chicken looks delicious! :p
A few more months and those buildings on central side will be decked out in christmas lighting for the winterfest.

Hmmm, well there is a question about that at the moment. I didn't notice at the time, but on refection the poultry hanging in the window appear to have tails!

Sure you're not viewing them the other way round? Its common for poultry there to still have the cooked neck and head. Geese and pigeon are common there.

A few years back it was hard to get pictures of the rickshaws - due to it being manned by an elderley gent who got too old. It was generally frowned upon as exploitation of the old geezer but it looks like its now being manned by 'younguns' now :P

I really like the first pic btw. I should remember to try and get some shots of joe public when i'm over tehre (only 10 days to go now! )

Anyway i had a little play -- hope you dont mind. I think i overdid it (and got a bit bored trying to sort the top left highlights and ended up ruining the colour), but hey. Spend some time and you could improve it a lot. :)
