Went to Rally Catalunya last month, let me know what you think:

Not sure I would have said they were underexposed - they look to have been taken during the evening from the way the shadows are falling.

I normally am less than excited by pics of cars going round tracks but the first one is fantastic :)

The third one also seems to have all the right elements but as a picture looks a little unbalanced.

Number 1 is a very nice photo, I do agree they look like they are very early morning or evening shots...must be hard to get good shutter speeds at this time?

Constructive criticism, they're all great and far better than I could do:

As Colin said, they look a bit underexposed to me. They do look like they were taken in low light, but maybe bringing out a bit of detail in the shadows would improve them?

The 2nd is the weakest of the three for me, the other two are head on so don't really need the sense of speed, but with the 2nd maybe a bit of motion blur on the background would have made it better.

The first is the best of the three for me, I really like the silhouette of the man in the background and the composition. The underexposure isn't an issue for me in this one as it's consistent so adds to the scene, rather than only being in the shadows like on the other two.

What equipment did you use for these?

All three pictures are good but the first one catches me the most. I like the dust and the way the evening light is positioned.
The second has a good angle as does the third. But I perfer the third as it shows the s bend as the car is coming out of it.
Could also do with a slight bit of processing to bring them out a little.
Nice pics!

Hi, thanks for all your comments - the first and 3rd ones were taken at about 6 o'clock on the friday evening - the second one was taken mid afternoon on the saturday. They were taken with a Minolta Dynax 7d, and a Vivitar 28-200 f3.5-f5.6, which was really struggling in the low light. I shot them in raw + jpeg, and these are the jpeg's that came straight off the camera, I just haven't had the time to process the raw files... I'm looking for a better lense at the moment, but can't stretch to a f2.8 70-200, so I'm looking at the minolta f4 70-210. Has anyone had experience of this lense? The reviews I've read seem favourable, but I'm not sure whether it will be an improvement..
