hey folks, in a little over a week im going to be buying all the jazz for my sexy core 2 duo e6600 system, but before i do i have a few questions

1) i already have a 550 watt power supply, is it safe to assume thats plenty for a core 2 duo system with a 8800 gtx included? i may plan to overclock too...

2)im playing on buying one of the motherboard/cpu/ram bundles of overclockers, and im wondering which motherboard of the 6600 bundles offeres the best performance for both general use and overclocking?

3) in terms of size will a 8800 gtx fit inside a chieftec dragon case, the ones that alienware used to have?

4) i know this one will be hard to answer but how easy is overlclocking a core 2 duo? baring in mind the closest ive come to overclocking is and old gfx card, are there failsafes to protect ejjits like myself? or is it just that easy?

im sorry if this is the same as the other several million topics, hehe, but i just wanna be sure, especially when im spending the best part of a grand, hehe

cheers in advance fellas, stay groovy.... :)

cheers stickroad, as i say though, im going to pick one of the e6600 bundles form the range on overclockers, just wondering which would be the best...

parts needed

cpu
ram
mobo
graphics card

the last one will be an 8800 gtx bfg model

yeah i do billy, a lovely green one, would love to keep it if i could...

ive already got a 7800 gt in there with one of those custom heatsinks on them, big black ones there name escapes me..., thats fits with room to spare by all accounts, its the length that bothers me...

hehe, "length"...

cheers man, but realistically, is there actually much difference between a 6600 and a 6400? at stock i mean?

yeah, that sounds good man

cheers buddie

feel like i should be paying for this service

wow, dunno what to say man, good show, just quickly, are you sure all that is compatible, just ive been for warned by a few people in regards to matching components etc

well, there ide at the moment, im thinking about scrapping these 2 80 gbs and going for the cheapest 250 gb i can find, plus im gonna go for a very cheap dvd re writer from my main drive...

uhmm, any idea? hehe

cheers man, dont be mad at me for askin this but, say if i did wanna overlcock, if i grew a pair and went for it, does this board and ram give me that option?

cheers man, i know your right, it makes sense, everywhere i read everyone is overlcoking these things with minium fuss

so far, my expeirience with builds has only been with amd machines, is this much different?

awesome, always wanted a german sherpard, i could call it coruthers, and teach it to attack foreign dogs, hehe

cheers for you help man..

from what im going to get, assuming i overlclock how long has this system got in it, years wise..?

good good

i have more questions but i fear your gonna do that dad thing where you tell me to pipe down as you try and read the sunday papers, lol :(

in all honesty is the 8800 a good purchase? i mean ive read the hub bub and the press about it, but with my 6600 in tow can i expect, well, for want of a better word, lighting in a bottle....

at the moment im playing games like rb6:vegas and f.e.a.r, obviously im going to be moving onto the brothers in arms hells higways and the crysis's of the world, and also vista aswell

i know this hardware isnt tested in those repects, but is it a safe bet?

like i say, a year ago i brougt my 7800 gt and to be honest im sort of regretting that, should have been more patient and probably paid for a better processer...
