At the start of feb I will be purchasing:
DS3
E4300
8800 GTS
(also 2GB of ram and a PSU, but they aren't that important in relation to the questions).
What is the better options out of:
E4300 OR E6300? I know the E4300 overclocks so much easier, but performs a little worse since lower FSB. But in theory would run cooler because less voltage is required?
Also, is the ASUS P5N-E SLI Nforce 650 any good at all? I am considering using that instead of the DS3, at least I am more future proof because of the ability to slap another 8800 GTS in there.
If I DO go for the SLI route, is there a compatability problem with some games , or is it a case of tick something and that is me being happy with extra performance? I take it I could get a a Joe Blogs GTS and a Uncle Bobs GTS and they will work perfectly together in SLI, or do they have to be the same clock speeds and stuff?
Lastly, should this system be able to handle games like Quake Wars and Command and Conquer, Quake 4, and Oblivion at 1680x1050 without to much headache?
