Hey guys,
Now I don't usually have any issues whatsoever but the last few days I have had a few weird things. Firstly I bought vr and the hdmi cable needs to plug into the graphics card right, but I already have display port plugged in for the monitor. Now thing is when I do this I can't get into the bios at all, when booting the screen is black and the system boots within 10 seconds. Turned out that unplugging the hdmi for the vr fixes that, but why is that happening.
More importantly I have had 7 cases of the computer randomly shutting off and restarting when gaming, even when playing a non vr game it just happened. Then on boot I got a BSOD which I have never had on this system, this happened twice. Now my knowledge and experience tells me that either the PSU is playing up, a bad overclock (which I am trying now without an overclock and will post back if it happens again), or possibly a bad power unit that the plugs are plugged into, doubt it is the latter.
Event viewer shows the events as:
Error - Service control manager (Event ID 7000)
Critical - Kernel-Power (Event ID 41) X 5
Error - EventLog (Event ID 6008)
Now a number of these will have come from me holding the power button to turn off because of the issue with the hdmi, but I would be shocked if the PSU was at fault but you never know. I use a 1300w Evga Titanium. What do you think guys?
So to summarise, before vr I had zero issues. It works fine 90% of the time and the PC can run for hours without an issue, the crash is very random. If I boot within the vr hdmi plugged into the card and then later add the connector whilst the pc is on it picks it up, bit of a workaround for the boot problem. More worrying is the crashes, checked the system no issue and rebuilt and all cables and connectors are clear. Overclock turned off right now so if I do get another crash at least I can rule that out, surely it has to be the primary culprit so we will see. I will go and game for a bit and see how it goes and post back guys.
