Hi everyone,

Just put together my new rig and having a couple of problems with booting up and a connection problem.

Firstly, when I press the button to boot up my PC, the whole thing will power on and start, but after a few seconds it will power off. Without me touching anything, 5-6 seconds later, the power will start again and the computer will load up fine. Very strange indeed.

The second problem is that the front audio plug in my CM 690 Advanced II does not work when I put my headphones in. The back one works fine, but can't seem to think what I have connected wrong.

Relevant parts are:

CM 690 Advanced II
700W Coolmaster Silent Pro Gold
Asus P8P67 Rev3, Intel P67
500GB Samsung HD502HJ Spinpoint F3
Intel Core i5 2500K
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic
1GB MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks.

Kaz.

My new build did exactly the same when booting for the very first time. Probably due to none of the components being powered before. After that initial charge of electricity has gone through the system it now boots normally.

Does your front panel have an HD audio cable? Plug that into the mobo header that should enable the front panel Jack

Yeah, make sure you use the HD Audio cable rather than AC'97 (the latter should still work though).

While that PSU isn't the best by any means it's not the cause of power-offs. Is there something in the BIOS you accidentally selected (power options for example) or in Windows?

my asus board does this aswell from time to time...usually when i play with the bios..

have you been having a play? when i change voltages i think it does it

Wow, literally just posted about the exact same thing with the on-off-on issue, and have the same mobo as you. It just started happening today :/
