Hi,

Just want to know a bit about the PAL PS3. I have always bought import NTSC consoles for as long as I can remember but I'm tempted to buy the PAL PS3 as I've heard that the games will be region free, I just want to clear a few thing up.

1) Will the PAL PS3 run all games regardless of origin.
2) If so, what format will all the games run in? Will UK games run in PAL 50hz and US in NTSC 60hz? or will they all run in PAL.
3) Will there be an option in the system menu to change the format depending on what country I bought the game from?
4) Will the PAL PS3 run all of my NTSC P2S games?

Thanks in advance.

1) At the moment all PS3 games are region free. It is up to the developer whether to region lock the games.

2)

3) No. You can change where you are located for your local system profile and PSN. At the moment there is only America, Hong Hong, Japan, Tawain, Canada. Europe will be added when it is released over here.

4) No. All of the old PS2 games are locked to their respective regions. Only PS3 (so far) has region free capabilities.

If im wrong then someone please correct me. Its a brilliant console i must say. 2007 will be the year for the PS3.

It should be mentioned that Sony are going agro on companies that import/export Playstation hardware and software with their army of lawyers. They want to crack down on people using non-native stuff.
