Hey all, I don't really know how to ask the question i need answered so ill start buy showing the layout of the system.
CABLE MODEM
USR5462 ROUTER
`Port 1 ¬ mac mini (file server/time machine/boxee)
`Port 2 ¬ network switch connecting 2x PC & 1x XBOX360
`Port 3 ¬ asus rnt11 router working in AP mode connecting 1x imac, sky+ hd box & 1x xbox360
wifi wise there are 1 laptop and 4 or 5 handhelds
the laptop and 2/3 handhelds connect to the main router.
the other handhelds to the access point
both the macs run media servers to the xbox's
the mac mini serves up to 4 boxee users (over lan mostly)
ok now my question... is there any way which i should arrange these devices in terms of attachment?
should i switch off wifi on the ap? (i only use this because i assume that it will slow the other users down less who are on the network switch)
ap vs switch... is there any benefits ? i used ap as it means i dont lose a port on the router.
Im really sorry if i dont make much sence or have used too many spaces.
Many thanks in advance
