hey guys i am getting a complete system from ocuk for christmas.
it is a core i3 system with a h55 mobo and a 450w psu. my inital plan is to purchase a graphics card to run instead of the onboard gfx. i was also wondering if i go to upgrade at a later stage would i be better off buying a p55 board than a h55? also is a larger psu say a 750w overkill or will i be fine with the 450 till i can scrape funds together. i am getting this system to be precise.

with w7 64bit and i dunno what gfx card as my dad is ordering and he knows about pcs more than me :D i have asked for money aswell instead of any other presents. what would you guys's first priority be for upgrading that system?

any feedback is much appreciated

thanks
rowan :)

also i know that it only comes with the stock intel cooler so i am considering a new case of some sort and possibly a h-50 for my first upgrade then trying to oc the cpu.

what is the normal clocks out of the i3 540s?

Id definatly say a graphics card.

the 450w psu should be ok for low end ati cards (HD5670 maybe 5770)

Depending on the games you will be playing is really depending on what card to get and if you'll need a new PSU or not

i considered buying seperatly. my mother knows nothing about pcs and wouldnt know what to get even if i gave her links to the products etc. so i thought getting a prebuilt one and then upgrading with money i get from xmas would be best option as it is easiest for her :P
also my dad is getting my graphics card then i just have to wait and see what money i get for cooling etc

Are you overclocking it? i know its forbidden on this forum but intel stock fan is fine if your running the system at stock. No need for extra cooling really
