A few setup questions about my new HTPC

I've recently built myself an HTPC around the following components.

Athlon BE-2400
Abit AN-M2HD Motherboard
2GB RAM
2*500GB Seagate 7200.11
LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM
Antec Fusion Case
Terretac Cinergy 2400i TV Card
Vista HP 64bit edition

Connected via HDMI cable to a JVC 32" LCD at 720p, standard TV speakers.

I've now installed the k-lite codec pack 64bit edition and have basic playback working in VMC and have all my movies/tv series organised with MyMovies/MyTV.

However, I've become a bit confused on how to setup FFDshow for my setup. I want to use this HTPC to upscale any DVD playback through VMC and to increase the quality of any .avi (or similar) played through VMC. I've read the FFDshow guide at the top of the forum but I'm not sure which one to follow.

Do I follow the basic guide as described on the FFDshow walkthrough here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=719041

Or this one
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=922773

Or does anyone know of a better guide for setting up FFDshow?

I don't as I have FFDshow x64 and K-Lite codec pack x64 with x64 Markosky splitter, so all content plays fine in VMC x64, just need a guide on optimizing FFDshow.

You really just need to setup ffdshow scaling options..

If you've installed ffdshow why have you installed k-lite codec pack?

Sorry, meant FFDshow x64 as park of the K-Lite codec pack x64.

So them settings upscale all video files played?
