Sold my DSLR and went 4/3 for this trip with a GF1 and 20mm combo. Not entirely convinced on the format yet - it's not quite pocket sized therefore you still have to think about carrying the camera.

Finally the 4S continued to impress me using the proHDR app:

Nice shots. I like the China town street.

My friend has a GF1 and the other a GF2 and I completely agree; they're not small enough to fit in a pocket therefore you still need a bag or a neckstrap in which case the only portability benefit over that and a DSLR is weight.

And that's why I opted for the S95 - can live in your pocket the entire trip.
