Just got round to processing some shots from the Roaches (or thereabouts).
Cannot say what a difference a decent polariser makes, adds a lot of saturation and contrast and really brings out those clouds.

Agreed. As per my other post they lost something in the upload, possibly because they are Adobe RGB and not sRGB which is supposedly better for web images. They look fine in Lightroom etc.

Just to see if they do look better using sRGB....

Hmmm....they seem to retain their saturation and contrast better (a bit overdone on this one though).

I really like these shots a lot. that polarizing filter does an awesome job of bringing out the clouds and making the sky nice and blue!! Good work ;)

Im going to make a guess here based on your exif details but was it the 17-40L lens that you used on your 5d?

You guessed right. The 17-40L is a great wide angle lense with the 5D. I used to own one a few years ago for my 20D but it wasn't wide enough, so I sold it and got the 10-22. As soon as I got the 5D I missed the 17-40 and had to pick up another!

The polariser also aids in bringing out distant objects such as trees and bushes as it cuts through the distant haze.
