Hi guys.

I recent had a new installation of 50mb and was given said combined modem and router.

Now I'm getting a wired transfer rate of 10mb/sec.

Is that normal?

I can watch 1080p files fine through PS3 Media Player and I've set that to 12mb/sec.

What are other people getting if 10mb/sec is too low, wired or wireless?

Cheers :)

Are all of the ports on the Super Hub gigabit? Is your network card negotiated at 1000Mb/s?

What is the Virgin Media Super Hub?

# Supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps) networking on four ports
# Wireless 'N' standard equipment

Haven't been given any equipment by VirginMedia so not sure what transfer speed's you should expect.

However although the Superhub is capable of Gigabit, unless your NIC is also a Gigabit, the Superhub should auto switch down to the fastest speed it can manage with the NIC you have installed.

You could always look at Troubleshooting the Virgin Media Super Hub and see if that help's at all.

Thanks guys.

It was very easy to fix in the end. Just had to enable 1000 full duplex on the PS3 in the network settings.

Now getting 19.5mb/sec, 1.5mb/sec upload :)

Good to see you got it sorted :)
I find it better then the 615 they gave out, my speed to my cheap NAS is 30\30MB.
But I did not have to do any port forwarding so far so good. But there is a firmware update coming soon.

May I hijack please - how do I need request a new IP address? On my old Linksys I used to change the MAC and it forced Virgin to issue a new IP address...
