As the title says, more and more news coming in all the time regarding the Wii, and getting better all the time.

The last point however DOES raise an interesting and worrying dilema...

From Ubisoft's creative director Nicolas Eypert:
In Red Steel, you'll have up to four players [in the multiplayer mode]. If they play together in split screens we can only say that the fight will not be only on screen (grins). Concerning the [multiplayer] gameplay, we will reveal more later in the development process. We must ask you to be patient.

Not be only on screen

Several pages have changed on the official Wii website, including:

In a football game, you can make your quarterback elusive with the Nunchuk controller while you look for an open receiver to throw to using the Wii Remote.

The following has been removed (maybe due to rewording) but a quick capture of the networking is here

Nintendo does not charge a fee for people to play via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's online service. Just put a game into the system and connect. Soon you'll play agsinst your friends around the world!

And finally, this is gonna make ya think

Y'know the story about the British Government banning the use of Standby modes in electrical equipment (http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,19509-2266159,00.html)?
Well how is this gonna affect the Wii, 'cos we all know the wonders of what can happen when we Wii on standby, are we gonna miss out?

The wii, is technically never in a "standby" mode, if memory serves it acts as a wireless access point and can receive updates when not in use for gaming etc ;) (at least that could be the arguement used to get around any ban on devices being in standby)

Nothing 'official' has been set in stone, but for games such as Animal Crossing, even if the Wii is off/standby/left alone/not in use, people can visit your town and mess things up.

As with the Wii, no-one has yet to fully work-out what it can potentially mean, but as a made-up example there'd be nothing stopping several people in a racing game and when one person leaves their Wii for the night, the others could go 'in' and say slash the tires, graffiti the wall, put sugar in tank, etc, etc.

I think you're right mi old howler (sorry ;)) I hope this is true because poor old UK will miss out on some great features if it's not.

Features like that would most likely have nothing to do with it being left on standby. Your data would be stored on a server somewhere rather than it being held on your console.
