Hi Guys,
Im a 'long time lurker, very few posts' user of these forums, but I recently got my X1900XT from OcUK and hgave a couple of quick questions, having read the board people here seem to be knowledgable and will be able to help me (I hope
)
1. How can I check the clock speeds on my card are increasing properly in 3d apps (i have dual display set up so can put any second app on my other screen)
- the Cat Control Center ans ATiTool dont show any increase when i run 3d apps (ie CoD2).
2. ATi Tray Tools (my preferred app) doesn't support overclocking in the X19 series
ATiTool wants to do it but only if I leave those clocks set for 2d too (which I dont want to do as I like the quiet running in 2d
) Any app that will overclock in 3d only? Please link me
3. I have a feeling this is my TFT giving me this problem, but seeing as I got the PowerColour3D X1900XT which I guess loads of other people are about to get........In 2d and 3d on certain shades of block colour (only noticable on areas of solid colour) I get a shimmering - almost like a very faint interference pattern or very faint checkerboard effect. If i adjust the gamma/ contrast/brightness on either the card (via CCC) or the monitor I can get the colour to 'lock down' to a solid colour but the problem will shift to another area of the screen (with a slight different shade of colour). As the problem seems to move when I adjust my TFT colour/gamma/brightness I assuming this isnt a problem caused by the X1900 but a prob with me monitor (cos TFT still cant do 32bit colour properly?? or so Ive heard)?
The OcUK forums have been a good example of this as they use several shades of blue, and with slight different TFT settings I getting the prob on different areas of the screen.
Sorry for the long description but I wanted to try and get my point across in detail as this didnt seem to happen on my x800xt (also from OcUK btw)
Anyone else experienced this?
