A game you should not overlook.

I just feel RR6 is severely lacking compared to a title like PGR3.

The attention to detail and varying levels of gameplay in PGR3 is what makes it such a great game. Not to mention the vast array of tracks.

RR6 may be an arcade game but they've over simplified it to the point of it being boring.

thats the whole point of Ridge Racer, simple racing, simple drifting (no breaking anywhere), the challange of the faster special cars, this isn't a true driving game that pretends to copy real life counterparts, its always been like that.

Infact this is the 1st version where its actually not simplified anymore as they have the turbo feature that you must use in the right area's to gain more turbo's and if to use 1 turbo or all 3

If it was not for the online play I would have got bored of PGR3, as It stands with online play I played It every day solid for 3 months.

PGR3 really needed a few more tracks, and I wish they would add a load more race tracks. I find the city racing a bit rubbish, it feels like I'm racing a really powerfull car but hitting sharp turns every few seconds with no run off area's. I think they needed more tracks or courses that allowed you to really open up on the power. Infact my favourite track is Hockenheim, and I would love to see a PGR game done with loads more real tracks such as Silverstone, Laguna seca, Surfers paradise etc.

I also found that I liked multiplayer on RR6 more than PGR3, maybe I'm just rubbish at PGR but I always seem to get punted at the first corner :( at least with RR6 if someone does that they loose all their speed and I get a speed boost. It's time they looked at a penalty system in PGR for people who shunt others of at the first bend.

You bought the wrong game then, the PGR series (and MSR) is based around city racing.

lol. I probably did. Don't get me wrong, i think PGR3 is one of the best release titles for 360 and I've been fan since I played MSR on the dreamcast. I just wish I was better at it online. Maybe I just get frustrated because I'm usually ok with any type of racing game except this, I nearly always come last. Maybe I just need to practice more.

I still think it could do with some extra cities and tracks though.

I rate RR6 well above PGR3 on gameplay without a doubt. Graphics I am not so sure about , if anything PGR3 is better.

As a total package I am more in favour of RR6
