On the look out for a gaming laptop, I travel a lot with work and my son's stolen my Nintendo switch!

What I've managed to find is a 15" hp omen...

i5 7300hq
Gtx 1060 (max q version)
1080p 120hz gsync
8gb ddr4 (upgradable)
1tb hdd (upgradable to m.2 + 2.5" ssd)

All for the handy sum of £999.

Am I missing something with this? I can barely find 1050ti laptops at this price, let alone anything with 120hz gsync bundled in too.

Anything better I should be looking at?

Morning pigi947,

Spec and price seems to be in line with market average - note that its i5 processor, and also MaxQ graphics - so not full blown GTX1060 performance. Also not sure from your spec if its 3GB vRAM or 6GB,,,,, that will make a difference to gaming performance....

Anyway, in case you wanted something with i7, and with full GTX1060 GPU performance (with 6GB vRAM) , and PCIe SSD already installed, have a look at the P55W and P57W in the range we discounted on Friday afternoon: JANUARY SALE

Hope that helps and gives you food for thought, any Q's let us know.

Happy shopping.

Hi atom,

Yes it's a 6gb 1060, I understand the max q is lower perf, but still higher then the 1050ti's it competes with in that price bracket.

The big thing swinging me is 120hz and gsync, I can't imagine gaming these days without gsync, huge game changer for me.

I'm struggling to see other gsync laptops under £1300 which is why I'm wondering if I'm missing something with the omen.
