A good FPS for my Dad

Basically any FPS and set it to 'easy'.

Could always just bang on God Mode and let him get used to moving and shooting, and navigating around.
 
Portal would have been ideal, dont need to be particularly fast with the aiming etc - at least until the later levels!
 
I let my dad borrow Max Payne for his new laptop, I know its not first person but he really enjoyed playing it.

He almost got addicted lol :p

Personally I think the best way to learn is to start with something like Doom - it's really simple, no complex AI, puzzles, or anything like that. Just point the gun and pull the trigger.
 
Just let him play games on Single player mode on the easiest setting.

Or say you have COD4. Start up your own server. Just him. And let him run around the empty map and tell him to shoot cans and stuff. This will let him get used to moving and shooting.

Then its a matter of practicing on the live servers with the rest of the world.
 
if he has trouble using wasd then set him up on the arrow keys, i always configure my games to use the arrow keys i just dont like wasd.
 
SOF 2. My dad loves it. Its the only thing he plays. The lobby is simple and its generally a very simple game to play (but very hard to master)

Its fast paced but he will soon learn, if he gets bored or annoyed he can turn it off quickly
