A good gaming mouse and keyboard?

Depends what you class as "expensive".

The Razer Deathadder is very good, I've owned a few and they are all excellent. They also do a "lefty" version if you are that way inclined. On the cheaper side of things the Logitech MX518 is highly regarded. Logitech also do other popular models and keyboards as well, although their RMA and support is not as good as it used to be the products are still excellent.

Can't really help you with keyboards, I type more than I game these days so went with something that was nice to type on, the Enermax Aurora Lite. Frankly any keyboard is fine for gaming imho, you don't need a "gaming" keyboard unless you want special buttons.

Probably have to go with what stulid put. Unless you want to spend a bit more and become a Razer fanboy... :D

Still love my Roccat Kone.

I'm using a Unicomp Customizer as my main keyboard, and have a cheap Dell one for gaming on (the unicomp is buckling spring, so rather loud indeed)

It's hard to recommend mice and keyboards as it's really down to personal preference :P

If you can try some out at a specialist retail store, it will help to no end.

+1 for the Razer Deathadder, using it on a Boogie Bug pad and I can't fault it. Well worth the price.

I have a Logitech G15 keyboard which is great too though it's a bit pricey. I'd go with the MS Sidewinder mentioned for a cheaper option.

Thanks for all of the responses. The sidewinder will be the keyboard then, the only problem is the mouse. I don't really want to spend anymore than about £30-£35 on it. So far its looking most likely to be the Logitech G400, unless anyone else has any other suggestions in that price range?

Thanks again :)

Not sold by OCUK but I highly recommend the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 (not the 4.0!) - it's super cheap these days and works very well as a gaming mouse. It doesn't have fancy weights or super high DPI if that's what you're looking for but it's never let me down. :)

Logitech G400 and Sidewinder X4 are what I use. I don't believe they're the best peripherals but they're probably the best for their price.

Sidewinder X4:
+ Good back light, auto profile switching, no key blocking, macro keys
- Keys are tightly packed, spongy keys (membrane), surface needs regular cleaning

Logitech G400
+ It's the MX518 with a faster sensor, 1000Hz polling, the new software is decent
- If you didn't like the 518 you wont like this

Use the earlier Intellitype software, 8.0, if you get the X4. The latest version has broken auto profile switching.

I would say razer but they are wayyyy over priced for what they are, a bit of a con actually.
I currently have the Saitek Cyborg R.A.T. 9 5600 DPI Wireless mouse and the Saitek Cyborg V7 *it looks like something from the original battlestar galactica :D*
Anyway both are awesome and get top marks in my book although im pretty sure you can get a good wireless gaming mouse for cheaper.

Don't knock it until you've tried it! :p ;)

Anyone found that their X4 keys wear easily? I spotted an image on another retailers website that showed a customers L key worn after less than 4 months use.

I guess it could have been a bad batch or something.
