Hi
Been suffering from what i thought was buzzing/ticking from my gtx 770
But listening closely, it sounds like my evga 600b
Cant be bothered returning it etc
Anyway, i am looking for a decent modular power supply that will fit in the prodigy mitx
I have like i said the msi 770
3 x ssd
2 x 2.5" hdd
Fan controller for 2 fans
And the asus h81 motherboard

So i am looking at about 600w i would have thought?!

600W is overkill, but they're quite cheap anyway, so it's alright.

I'd recommend the superflower ones, even though they are not modular. Hiding cables is easy within the prodigy, you just tuck them just behind the powersupply under the "frame".

For reference I'm running;

  • Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit
  • Corsair Hydro H70 Core CPU Watercooler
  • Samsung 256GB SSD 840 PRO
  • Samsung 512GB SSD 840 PRO
  • KFA2 GeForce GTX 660 2048MB GDDR5
  • MSI Z77IA-E53 Intel Z77
  • Kingston HyperX Blu 16GB 1600MHz
  • BitFenix Prodigy 'Tiger' Mini-ITX Cube Case - Orange/Black
  • Corsair Builder Series CX 600w Modular
  • Pioneer BDC-207DBK 8x BluRay ROM / DVDRW

the superflower golden green the cables are HUGE on it, i had one when i had the FT03 and thankfully OCUK accepted it back when i said i couldnt use it

bit worried about the corsair cx range, i know many people have them (my brother had the cx500 i think it was) but they do have a lot of bad reviews....
as for the BeQuiet many say they are not quiet lol

will have to just decide on one and get it or change my case so i am not limited by psu size

I done some builds with Cx range PSU's,they are decent enough but its not uncommon for them to be DoA.( I done 3 build in the last 12 months with them,1 was DoA).They also seem to get pretty hot, even in a well ventilated case.

If you want a quality PSU that is quiet get a Superflower Leadex unit

this would be an excellent choice http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-014-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2463 would be about £90 including delivery

Was looking at that or the RM corsair range.
But with both i would have to get the lian li power supply extender...
Do you know who deals with the rma etc with superflower?

As far as im aware if you had to RMA a SF unit you would be dealing with OcUK

edit:Not sure why you would need a power supply extender?
