A good reason to avoid D-Link products?

Something which isn't BetaGear, and probably isn't D-Link - though the BBC article doesn't say how often the D-Link kit is querying the server.

NTP's supposed to start off with queries every few minutes (and then backs off), and if D-Link kit's the most popular (or has most idiots leaving the NTP server on default), what do you expect...

As if your average Joe is going to turn off or edit NTP server settings.. hard enough to get people to password wireless :)

Indeed, and unfortunately it's less trivial to randomly set an NTP server, so ta da, NTP server gets hammered.
Hardly an "OMG D-LINK R *** SUX0RS" story any more than any other manufacturer that it happens to.
