Well the time has come to look at my comp again and see what s worth upgrading :)

Ive currently got £400 and will have about £300 more sometime in may.

My current spec is:

E2180 @ 3Ghz (ACF7 Pro)
2Gb Geil ULL
Asus P5E
8800gt
CM Realpower 620W
CM-690 dominator
WD caviar 500gb

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what i have got waiting in my basket at the minute.

I understand that my E2180 is probably the most restricting part of my computer but i don't see any need to upgrade it atm.

Ive put a Tuniq tower in my basket as i'm going to try and push my CPU higher to around 3.4Ghz and for other reasons (ill say later)

The accelero, thermal tape and arctic clean are for my 8800gt which idles at high temperatures preventing me from OC'ing it, I know that the accelero comes with MX-2/AS5 on it and my MX-2 is for my tuniq and future use.

I've decided to get an eclipse as ive always wanted to get one and would like to have more space for cable tidying etc. I've heard that the eclipse does not some with fans so i have added 3 yate loons to the basket however may add another if i find that the eclipse comes with no fans for my accelero. This may change however as i have seen the new Omega thatis to be released and i really want that if its £20-30 more than an eclipse and is on pre-order within the next 2/3 weeks.

Finally i have added 4gb of OCZ gold edition as it is cheap, ive heard that it overclocks pretty well and will be a nice upgrade from 2Gb in vista 64bit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Come May i should have all the previous components (unless someone suggests a change) and i will have more of my money for an upgrade.

By this time i should start looking at an upgrade for my CPU (to a Q6600 Go) or for my GPU (if the new Nvidia cards turn out to live up to their expectations and are a worthy upgrade from my GT) but i also understand that if i did get a Q6600 i'd need to renew my vista with microsoft, how would i go about this and could i renew 64bit home premium as ive heard that you cant.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

All Help and suggestions welcome :)

Is it the temps limiting the OC on your 2180 to 3GHz?

EDIT: I'd probably keep the current spec and splash out in a month or so on a Q9450 and a decent case/cooling setup.
