I'm having I dilemma. My system isn't the fastest, but it isn't the slowest either.

My problem is that I'm running 2 x hd6870 in crossfire, which is great a part from it is blocking off my pci port which I would like back so I ca n run my Edirol interface (which requires a pci card) instead of my Motu 8 Pre Firewire, which sucks!

I have two options, buy a new interface (very expensive) or buy a new graphics card (also expensive but shinier games :D)

So, what would be a fairly good upgrade from 2 x HD6870's that won't kill my bank balance too much!

CPU & PSU up to scratch?

Something like an R9 380 should give a nice boost (£150 - 180). Depends on how much you wish to spend?

Could go second hand?

I know what you mean man, but getting a new mb and cpu (and then probably having to get a new os as too much hardware has changed) is a bit too pricey just to free up a pci port, plus I doubt most new motherboards even still have pci slots do they?!

You're missing the point man! The problem isn't speed, the problem is I am running crossfire which is blocking the use of my pci slot which I would like back!

Im not missing point as i already said get a 390 or a 970 or if you dont mind used get a 290x.

Other people was saying getting another cpu and motherboard, i only said to overclock incase you may have a small bottleneck with a new card.

I've got a hybrid, it does me alright!

My main problem though is that the drivers for my Motu Pre8 are shocking and they keep screwing up when playing Fallout 4, which is why I want to free up my PCI slot, so I can go back to using my Edirol Interface.

no one likes blasts of white noise in the middle of anything!!!
