A graphics app. that can make things look like they are on fire??

I had Ulead Cool 3D trail a long time ago & I made a image with it that was 3d text that was on fire, but I made the fire another color. Cool 3d might suck, but I loved how it let you drag a texture or effect onto the object. I know Gimp can do that, but I want it not to be complicated, Hmm, this seems good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-g2YFEFr_c sounds abit involved.

What exactly do you want to do?
